What documents does the escrow agent actually need from both sides?

Getting ready to open an escrow for a car I'm buying out of state. The agent asked for a signed purchase agreement and copies of our IDs. Is that standard? Anything else I should have ready so it doesn't drag out? Also — who usually drafts the agreement, me or the agent?

Signed agreement, photo ID, and the vehicle details (VIN, title info) are the usual set. Some agents provide a template agreement if you don't have one.

Have the title details handy too. If the title doesn't match the seller's name, escrow can stall right there.
